There are two types of kilns at this site, The Conventional Steam and Nonconventional Hot Water. There are many advantages of running two different types of kilns. First and foremost is diversity. We can dry different species of lumber and set our kiln schedules for what works best for that particular species. Secondly, different size lumber requires different drying needs. For example, Log cabin timbers require to be dried at much slower rate than say for example one inch lumber. Therefore we dry all of our products 10/4 and larger in our hot water Kilns. This allows proper drying for all lumber and applications. |
